Xenon 903WR is a fast drying photopolymer emulsion. 903WR is recommended for Plastisol and water-based ink systems. For water-based ink system, a hardener is recommended for a longer run. A hardener would enhance the durability of the emulsion film for a very long run, but when using a hardener the screen can likely not be reclaimed.  Otherwise the reclaiming of 903WR is easy.

Add Diazo at room temperature, shake long enough till Diazo powder is completely dissolved and then add the solution to the photo emulsion. Mix well into the emulsion and let stand for at least 30 minutes to release any air bubbles that may have been formed.  It is advisable to use a press or ink wash and ink-degradent that are meant for Plastisol inks.  Avoid using acetone or mineral spirit as they may lock in the emulsion film.  Sensitizer is included in the package.

Highlights:
  • broad spectrum of exposure limits, longer latitude
  • good resolution
  • good edge definition
  • perfect mesh bridging
  • fast drying
  • longer print capabilities with great durability
  • easy reclaiming
  • excellent humidity resistance

Specification data:
  • color: Blue
  • viscosity: 13,000/15,000 cps at 20 rpm
  • solids: 42% + -1%
  • solubility: water

Shelf Life - Approximate shelf life for this emulsion is 24 month (2 years) when stored at room temperature.  It should not be stored at temperatures above 80f (27c) or below 37f (0c).  For best results it should only be stored in its original container.

Emulsion Exposure Differences

Proper screen exposure must take many factors into account – the emulsion type, coating thickness, exposure unit, etc. As a general guideline for the different emulsion types (diazo, dual cure, and photopolymer) use these times as a reference.

Photopolymer – These are typically the fastest exposing emulsions, with many exposing correctly from 30-50 seconds. The shortest times can be seen when using a newer LED-type exposure unit.

Dual Cure – If you have established a good exposure time with photopolymer emulsions, you can typically add 90 seconds (1.5 minutes) to that time for most dual cure emulsions.

Diazo - If you have established a good exposure time with photopolymer emulsions, you can typically add 210 seconds (3.5 minutes) to that time for most diazo emulsions.

These times will depend heavily on your exposure unit and should only be considered as a starting point.

Fast exposure and very forgiving if artwork is not great

I don't normally write reviews but I read the 1-star left by another and found that to be an unfair and inaccurate review. This item description specifically states that it is recommended for Plastisol and Water Based Inks. It doesn't say discharge, or specifically, "plasticharge" , so you can't believe all reviews that you read. I have tried Pure Photopolymer and this is as good if not better than the one that I used. This is my go-to emulsion!
