In-Stock Item

IMPORTANT Texsource ships in-stock items as orders are placed, and cannot guarantee that temperature-sensitive items, like emulsions and emulsion removers, will not be exposed to freezing temperatures in transit. Texsource is not responsible for items damaged by exposure to extreme temperatures.

Ulano Orange is a ready-to-use SBQ-photopolymer direct emulsion formulated for imprinted sportswear printing. It is formulated with a “masking color” that reduces light scattering—the major cause of loss of resolution. With Orange, it is possible to use less costly white mesh without the closing up of fine lines and details.

Despite its anti-halation color, Orange is ultrafast-exposing. It is perfect for shops with high stencil making throughput as well as shops with fluorescent tubes or other low-intensity light sources. Orange has high viscosity (6,000 – 8,000 centipoise) that improves control when coating screens by hand and makes it a good choice for coarse mesh. Its high solids content (44 - 46%) results in better mesh bridging and edge definition, and fast drying.

Orange resists plastisols, most washup solvents, and some water-based textile inks, and it is easy to reclaim. Orange stencils are durable, will not become tacky under high humidity conditions, and have excellent wet strength and exposure latitude. Orange reduces stencil-making time in coating (because of its high viscosity), drying (due to its high solids), and exposure (due to its high photo-sensitivity).

Shelf Life - Approximate shelf life for this emulsion is 1 year when stored at room temperature.  It should not be stored at temperatures above 80f (27c) or below 37f (0c).  For best results it should only be stored in its original container.

Emulsion Exposure Differences
Proper screen exposure must take many factors into account – the emulsion type, coating thickness, exposure unit, etc. As a general guideline for the different emulsion types (diazo, dual cure, and photopolymer) use these times as a reference.

Photopolymer – These are typically the fastest exposing emulsions, with many exposing correctly from 30-50 seconds. The shortest times can be seen when using a newer LED-type exposure unit.

Dual Cure – If you have established a good exposure time with photopolymer emulsions, you can typically add 90 seconds (1.5 minutes) to that time for most dual cure emulsions.

Diazo - If you have established a good exposure time with photopolymer emulsions, you can typically add 210 seconds (3.5 minutes) to that time for most diazo emulsions.

These times will depend heavily on your exposure unit and should only be considered as a starting point.

Best I've used

This emulsion is not only affordable but durable!!! I have personally used this emulsion on jobs that were 7,800 pieces on an automatic, using 70/90/70 squeegees, and it didn't break down once. We have done this many times. The only time I've had issues with this emulsion was when we had someone new washing screens and they didn't degrease the screens correctly. On higher mesh screens, this emulsion does well if spread on thin. I have printed many 4 color process jobs using 305 mesh with this emulsion with amazing results. As a matter of fact, don't spread this emulsion on thick like other emulsions and you'll be surprised at the results. This emulsion also does well in high humidity, not sticking to the older style light tables like we have. Wash your screens correctly and burn your screens at the correct time and won't have issues. Don't get stuck on thinking more expensive is better.

Great emulsion

I’ve been using Orange for years and wouldn’t see any need to change. Does everything from short runs to my 5000 shirt orders. Also, works great for 110 to 200 mesh.

Hard Working Emulsion

Great product switched to this from diazo after getting a sample at the trade show.

Just like you'd want it to be

Switched to this emulsion from Diazo type, It has a quick exposure time and has held up really good with our manual press.
